Job description

The Setup Technician – Sets up a wide variety of 3-5 Axis milling centers and manufacturing cells. Works with the crews associated with machining automotive aftermarket components in a fast-paced environment. This includes; reviewing manufacturing documents, setting up and running FAI parts on a variety of machines, tools/tooling properly measured and installed in carousels, part quality standards are met, and of the equipment is maintained to company defined standards and goals. Commitment to Quality and efficiency is required. Strong people skills and the ability to communicate across multiple organizational boundaries and disciplines are critical.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Knowledge of Makino’s Modular Machining Complex (MMC2) technology, modular automated material handling systems is a plus.

  • Must follow all OSHA standards as well as all written and verbal company safety instructions that have been outlined in the safety manual and training.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Read and Understand Set up Sheets
  • Knowledge of Cutting Tools, and cutting parameters (Speeds/Feeds)
  • Familiar with FANUC, MAS-5, Haas, Mori Seiki, Makino and similar CNC controls

PREFERRED

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a Shop floor with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, noise, vibration and moving mechanical parts. Note, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when entering the plant to include ear plugs, safety glasses, and steel toe boots. Disposable masks are optional, however, due to COVID-19, face coverings are required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Some heavy lifting – up to 50 pounds. Any weight over 50 pounds will require a team lift. Must be physically able to exert up to 20lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10lbs of force frequently. Frequent use of hands and fingers, handle and/or feel, reaching with hands and arms. Prolonged standing and sitting. Ability to bend, twist at waist level, lift from floor level, stoop and kneel. Occasionally requires the employee to talk and/or hear.

As Director Supply Chain you will be responsible for developing the organization, operations and strategies that will drive the supply chain flow of the company and delivery of the related business objectives. The Director Supply Chain will lead the functions of Direct & Indirect Material Procurement, Supplier Development, Inventory Control, Demand Planning and Supply Planning.

The Director Supply Chain will have the primary objective of ensuring consistent product supply while controlling inventory to support corporate revenue, profitability, and cash flow targets.  This role is responsible for all the activity required to assure product availability. 

Responsibilities:

Procurement & Supplier Development, including:

  • Negotiate and lead the procurement of materials and supplies from a global supply base.
  • Develop new supply sources to increase capacity and manage costs.
  • Develop and manage supplier delivery, track performance KPI’s, and communicate effectively with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and future commodity market conditions.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure contractual terms are being met.

Materials & Inventory Control, including:

  • Profound insight of inventory management to include production materials flow, daily material transaction accuracy, cycle count programs and physical inventory.

  • Ensure quality procedures and fulfillment metrics are in place and being met and customers being satisfied, while at the same time optimizing inventory to avoid overstock situations.
  • Direct and manage tools and processes for setting and adhering to inventory targets for all categories of materials; own the calculation and reporting of inventory values, and any impairments, write downs or reserves associated with that value.
  • Lead Company-Wide inventories for direct materials and indirect materials
  • Maintain inventory accuracy at 98%+.

Demand and Supply Planning, including:

  • Lead the demand planning function to generate detailed forecasts to reflect all necessary inputs to drive purchasing, manufacturing, commercial and financial activities, and desired business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer service to recognize noteworthy variances and then adjust the forecast accordingly.
  • Design and monitor monthly SIOP meetings and outputs to drive supply functions.
  • Regularly update manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and commercial functions with accurate item-level changes in the forecast.
  • Communicate updated long range planning assumptions to finance and executive functions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong experience in ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and business intelligence tools, advanced proficiency in Excel with excellent planning, reporting and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrable experience managing vendor relationships and performance.
  • Strong analytical, strategizing, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience communicating with and presenting to Executive level audiences.
